What Is a Corporate Profile Report?

A Corporate Profile Report is an official government record that shows a registered corporation’s current legal status, structure and public filing history. We order it for you from the Service New Brunswick Corporate Registry for New Brunswick companies, or from Corporations Canada for federal corporations.

What the Report Includes

Legal identity: the corporation’s legal name, operating names, corporation number and Business Number (BN)
Status: whether the corporation is active, inactive, dissolved or amalgamated, and its date of incorporation
Addresses: the registered office address and any mailing addresses on file
Leadership: names and addresses of the current directors and officers
Filing history: recent filings, amendments and past name changes

Some provinces also list Individuals with Significant Control. New Brunswick does not make that information public, so it will not appear on a New Brunswick report.

Due diligence: checking that a company is real and in good standing before you partner with it, buy it or sign a contract
